Erdogan attends Sharm el-Sheikh summit
Before the ceremony, Trump greeted Erdogan at the International Convention Center, where the two leaders spoke briefly and posed for a photograph. Following the welcome of leaders from participating nations, a group photo was taken. The US president delivered the opening speech as the proceedings commenced.
Erdogan joined Trump, Sisi, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in signing the agreement.
“We seek tolerance, dignity, and equal opportunity,” the declaration stated, emphasizing that the region should enable all people to pursue their dreams in peace, security, and economic prosperity, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity.
The agreement further stressed a comprehensive vision of peace and security built on mutual respect and shared responsibility. “In this spirit, we welcome the progress achieved in establishing comprehensive and durable peace arrangements in the Gaza Strip, as well as the friendly and mutually beneficial relationship between Israel and its regional neighbors,” it added.
The signatories pledged to collaborate in implementing and preserving the agreement, laying institutional foundations to allow future generations to “thrive together in peace.”
